Interesting discussion - and view from a former top level professional fighter. Personally my favourite punches were right to the body and left hook to the head and my jab wasn’t brilliant but take it away and I’m not sure I would have found range for other shots or been able to defend myself properly against opponents offence. Even Joe Frazier had an excellent jab when he used it (see Quarry II). Question. Take away Thomas Hearns jab entirely. Does Michael think he would have done better than he did against him?

It was a pleasure to watch this. Two great fighters. It makes me happy to see them healthy and doing well after hanging the gloves up.

WONDERFUL interview. Maurice Hope was one of my favorite fighters back in the day, and it was good to see him in fine shape (all thanks to God). I too, have looked for the video of his victory over Vito Antufermo online and I’ve never been able to find it. I recently read an interview with Vito and he talked about the fight with Hope. Antufermo said that he believes that he was winning until the beginning of the 15th round, but then he was hit by a hard left by Hope and “doesn’t remember anything after that.” It was heartwarming to hear Maurice talk about his reunion with WILFRED BENITEZ years after their bitter battle, and how all of the hatred and animosity that he had for Benitez melted away when he saw his old rivals awful condition. Just a great interview. God bless you. From America!

What a charsmatic heroic figure Nunn remains. Even after that 16.5 year travesty of a sentence he came back to fight and beat a MMA legend Pat Miletich. Upbeat and intelligent. I would have liked to hear more from Michael Olajide speaking about the super interesting 80s middleweight scene. You didnt even skim over it......silk tried to eg the question ...did u and hagler ever spar to nunn....i would like there to be a part 2 with the caveat michael nunn allows Silk to ask the questions uninterrupted :-) I want to hear detailed discussions of the barkley,curry and starling fights.....more on his views on the brits like graham,sibson,benn & eubank....why roy jones jnr didnt fight him.....more on if he wouldve beat mccallum....and Silk talking too about his fights with barkley,lee and hearns....that whole MW era 87-91 was fascinating....i know Silk tried to engage on it...but part 2 please Ben!

Hi Ben, great interview. Lovely to see Charlie looking so well. Jimmy Wilde was mentioned early in the interview. I have written a biography about him, "The Mighty Atom"which is being published by Pitch and is due out in October.

Very seldom watch any boxing related interviews these days. But this is a good interview. Charlie coming over lucid and informative. I do think Lawless, as unpalatable as he could be, gets a raw deal sometimes. Employers have said a lot worse to contracted employees/partners.

After the Tyson Botha fight, Tyson went onto the apron with Crocidile ( never ever seen him do this) called Davey up into the ring. Yrs later i went to the old mans gym on Notre Dame and mentioned it to Davey . He was appretiative. These guys had a rep but if you showed respect they would be real gentelmen
